Silicone mold Gauge H0 1:72 Königsfels castle ruins
Dimensions: 18cmx12cmx2.0cm
After 9 months of development, building blocks for a castle ruin for H0 scale or 1:72 as silicone mold To be able to offer.
Such a development is extremely time-consuming: create the first master blocks,
1. silicone mold manufacture, cast stones, build models. See if everything fits. Create missing blocks as master.
2. Create a mould, cast and continue building the model.
If everything fits then pour a master, make the master for the mold, only then can the individual silicone molds be created.
The challenge was that you could:
- a castle ruin, but also masonry, an archaeological excavation and much more can be built
- the building blocks for H0 gauge can also be used for 1:72
And that was the hardest part about it. Some of the building blocks are only around 4 mm, some up to 12 mm, some of course larger, depending on the shape of the building blocks.
Especially the large number of stones was quite complex. Be it base plates, cuboids, modules and much more.
In total you get about 120 building blocks with one cast.
Every little stone has been finely worked out so that they look extremely authentic.
Especially in close-ups you can see how incredibly real the building blocks look!
Of course you have to use tweezers.
But that's a lot of fun, because you can build your own personal castle.
Stone by stone, and you can be really proud of that.
legal:
If you want to sell the cast blocks or models built from them, etc. commercially, you need a license.
If you are interested, just send us an inquiry.
The form itself may not be copied and no form may be made from the cast blocks.
Tips:
Build the castle staggered or tiered. This looks particularly good.
For example, you could use hard foam or styrofoam as a base.
To glue the stones use a wood glue (preferably a waterproof one).
Important: Do not cast the stones with cheap gypsum, but rather use a higher quality, e.g. ceramic gypsum or similar (you can get small amounts of Plastalin from me).
This has the advantage that it becomes much harder, it also flows better and this results in significantly fewer air bubbles and it dries faster.
Allow the plaster to dry thoroughly before gluing the building blocks, otherwise the glue may not hold well.
Gypsum can be colored very well.
It is best to use watercolors (black and brown, or some ocher).
It is important that the colors are heavily diluted with water!
Watercolor, acrylic, powdered paint or even the normal water colors used in school can be used there.
First simply brush the entire surface with heavily diluted black paint.
If it's still damp, run down the windows with diluted brown paint to represent rainwater.
In between, simply set brown or ocher spots.
Yes, even white patches would be good.
And: Use an olive color mixed with yellow and dab some areas with it.
This is to represent the moss on the stones.
Please only green the castle with really realistic-looking materials, it would be a shame if you messed everything up with cheap moss that was wrongly colored.
You will also find offers on leaves, moss, etc.
I can only warmly recommend this material to you.
For grouting (that doesn't have to be the case, but gives the kick again, so to speak), use quartz sand.
Spread the joints with glue diluted with water.
Then sprinkle the quartz sand (quartz flour would be even better).
Immediately afterwards, wipe lightly off the stones again with a dry brush.
The sand in the joints sticks. That looks extremely realistic!
